Tournament Setup and Regulations.

All Players and Coaches MUST be Members of England Netball for season 2025-2026

  • Players in the U10 Tournament must have been 9 years old or younger on 31-Aug-2025.
  • Players in the U11 Tournament must have been 10 years old or younger on 31-Aug-2025.
  • Players in the U12 Tournament must have been 11 years old or younger on 31-Aug-2025.

Tournament Structure

  • Stage One
    • Each age group will consist of 2 pools of 4 teams.
    • Each team will play every other team in their pool.
  • Stage Two
    • New Pools allocated as follows:
      • Cup Pool drawn from 1st and 2nd placed teams in each Stage One pool.
      • Bowl Pool drawn from 3rd and 4th placed teams in each Stage One pool.
    • Each team will play every other team in their pool.
  • The Tournament Champions will be the winners of the Cup Pool.
  • Each team will thus play 6 games (one round on, two rounds off)
  • Games will be 2 x 6-minute quarters, with a 1-minute half-time.

Tournament Management

Matches will be centrally timed and start and finish when a hooter is sounded.

The team named first on the schedule has first centre and choice of shooting direction.

Please be courtside promptly ready for your match. Teams who are not on court and ready to play within one (1) minute of the scheduled start time will be deemed to have conceded the match and a score of 5-0 will be awarded to the team that was ready to play. Matches finish when the finishing hooter is sounded, irrespective of any delay in starting after the starting hooter.

In the event of a draw in a final match an additional minute will be played. If teams are still deadlocked at the end of this extra time, play will continue until the next goal has been scored (the Golden Goal Rule).  Centres alternate as usual during extra time; the first centre of extra time goes to the team who did not take the last centre of normal time.

There will be a 2 minute break between matches to allow for teams to changeover.  Please leave the Courts via the one-way system as soon as your match is finished.

Substitutions

No rolling substitutions or tactical substitutions. Substitutions may be made during the half time interval.

League Tables

Teams are awarded points as follows:

  1. Five (5) points for a win
  2. Three (3) points for a draw
  3. Two (2) points for a loss having scored and within 3 goals of the winners’ score (e.g. 7-4, 6-5)
  4. One (1) point for a loss having scored (e.g. 2-7, 1-5)
  5. Zero (0) points for a loss while failing to score (e.g. 0-5)

League tables for each pool will be compiled on the basis of the points awarded to each team. Where teams are level on points the following will be used to differentiate between the teams, in the order of precedence shown:

  1. Higher Goal Difference (Total Goals Scored - Total Goals Conceded) then ...
  2. Higher Total Goals Scored then ...
  3. Fewer Total Goals Conceded then ...
  4. The result of the match between the two teams then ...
  5. (In Stage 2) Better Stage 1 Performance then ...
  6. Alphabetical order of Team Name (case insensitive) as recorded in the Tournament Schedule.

The Club League table aggregates the record of each of the club's team in both the league stage and the play-offs, together with bonus points awarded as follows

  • 8 bonus points for each team in a Cup competition
  • 4 bonus points for each team in a Bowl competition
  • 1 bonus point for each team reaching a Final
  • 1 bonus point for each team winning a Final, Semi-Final or Play-off match

The Club League table is ordered by Adjusted Points, which takes account the number of teams the club has competing across all age groups.

Finally

These notes are an addendum to the standard England Netball Rules, as published online at www.englandnetball.co.uk

The final arbiter on all matters is the Head Umpire. Any decision made by the Head Umpire is final.

Please follow the one-way system when entering and leaving the Courts. Please leave the courts as soon as your match has finished.
